M.A.G.I.C. Mission Statement

The mission of the Minnesota M.A.G.I.C. program is to provide student-athletes with quality volunteer opportunities so that they may give back to the Twin Cities community. As Minnesota M.A.G.I.C. volunteers will represent their teams, the athletic departments, and the University of Minnesota. Participants will gain leadership through service while providing a positive influence in the community.

What would you say to any students who might be interested in volunteering?
"Do it! You won't regret it! The hardest part is going on that first event and getting out of your comfort zone. Take a teammate along with you...it will be much easier to be social. But everyone who volunteers is really nice. The important thing is that you have to WANT to be there. If you don't, it will show. Events are a lot of fun and afterwards you will feel good about yourself, and who doesn't want that every once in awhile?"
- Sara Clancy, Soccer

The MAGIC program is designed to provide student-athletes with quality community service opportunities.

  • Good way to meet other student-athletes!
  • Great opportunity to make a positive impact on the Twin Cities community!
  • It’s good experience to add to your resume!

"Volunteering has helped me grow as an individual by helping me to really appreciate what I have, and the abilities I have been gifted with. It has put into perspective how much of an honor it is to be a Gopher and to be representing the University of Minnesota."
- Danielle Skrove, Softball
