McNamara Student-Athlete of the Week: Ben Pisani

Ben PisaniEach week, the McNamara Academic Center for Student-Athletes (MAC) will recognize one University of Minnesota student-athlete for his or her academic achievements. The winner of the McNamara Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending on October 16th is Ben Pisani, from the men’s golf team.

Dr. Susanne Jones, Associate Professor in the Communications Studies Department, and supervisor of Ben’s senior paper describes his hard work and dedication in the classroom.

“Ben has demonstrated what matters most to me and likely most other instructors and that is, ethical sportsmanship,” Dr. Jones said. “He has chosen to set up weekly meetings with me to tackle the most difficult of all assignment for ALL CLA students (the senior paper). And it has definitely paid off. Ben possesses what most other athletes (and also non athletes) do not possess and that is integrity, honesty, and dedication.”

“Ben is so on top of his assignments, is so motivated to get his work done, and so THERE, that it's been a pleasure to work with him.”

Associate Head Coach Andrew Tank recognizes Ben’s accomplishment. “Ben is deserving of this award. We are proud of the way that he represents Gopher Golf in the classroom and on the golf course.”
