McNamara Student-Athlete of the Week: Hailey Cowles

Each week, the McNamara Academic Center for Student-Athletes (MAC) will recognize one University of Minnesota student-athlete for his or her academic achievements. The winner of the McNamara Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending on October 30th is Hailey Cowles, from the women’s volleyball team.

Associate Head Coach Scott Swanson remarks on how great of an honor this is for Hailey as well as the gopher volleyball team.

“We are extremely proud of Hailey for the progress she has shown academically and we are very appreciative of the support the MAC provides in helping all of our student athletes to succeed academically and for career planning.”

Academic Counselor Chelsie Shafer recognizes the time and effort Hailey has put into her academics this fall.

“Hailey has been working extremely hard this fall semester. She is on task when studying at Bierman, stops in regularly to let me know she is taking care of her school work, has received positive grade reports, and in general is making great choices when it comes to her academics. It’s great to see Hailey making such positive strides in the classroom.”
